How to build a successful business online

Hey guys it's Nathan Lucas from FreedomInfluencer.com. Have you wondered to yourself what it really takes to build a successful online business?

I know there are a lot of different theories on this topic, but what I want to do for you is show you exactly how to build a successful business online like a pro.

So, here it is... how to build a successful business online.

1. Identify your target market

I can tell you that when I first started online I did not do this. Even though I heard it over and over, I wanted to market to everyone.

But, in marketing to everyone, we market to nobody. It's very important that you get real clear on who it is that you're trying to market to. If you fail to figure out who your target market is, and continue to market to the masses, you will certainly lose money.

2. Provide value to your market

This should be a no brainer, but that's not always the case, so I'd like to talk a little bit about this because it's so important.

In a world where there is soooooo many distractions and things competing over someone's attention, you've got to learn to provide valuable content to the marketplace.

While, most people continue spamming their home business opportunity all over social media, you can stand out from the crowd by providing valuable information in the midst of the craziness.

Nathan, what is valuable information? Great question! In order to provide valuable information to the marketplace, you need to know what your target market needs, or what they struggle with. Find the pain points people have the hardest time with, then provide them with a solution.

When I got started online, I felt like I had no value to give, so I harnessed the power of a system that allowed me to become an authority over night.

3. Capture leads and build an email list

You may have heard that the money is in your list... Well, that's true. In the network marketing industry, people are taught to make a list of everyone they know. This gives them a base for growing their business. The same is true for growing a business online, except online you create your own list.

Creating a list of subscribers online allows you to follow up with highly target leads who are interested in what you have to offer. In marketing this way, you no longer have to chase friends or family. You become the hunted instead of the hunter. It's pretty dang cool!

Awesome! But, Nathan, how to do I capture leads to build my list? Another great question. I recommend going through my free course that teaches you exactly how to generate endless leads for your business. It all starts with a lead capture page and giving something of value away for free, in exchange for someone's information.

4. The 80/20 rule - jab, jab, jab, right hook

So, you've learned to create valuable content, but how much value should you be providing and when do you ask for a sale? This is where the 80/20 rule comes into play.

It's awesome that you're proving valuable information to your audience, but you're going to want to make sales, right? Well, some entrepreneurs have struggled with finding the balance between giving value and promoting an opportunity or selling a product.

So, here's what they say... Provide 80% value and 20% promotion. Personally. I believe you should be providing 90% value, but hey, that's just me. It's a pretty simple concept to follow. Just ensure that the majority of your content is useful to your audience and you'll be fine.

5. Sell something (Tiered Products)

Okay, I don't know about you, but I sure as hell don't want to work for free. This is why you've got to sell something!

I can tell you right now, I'm not a sales person, I never have been. But, I do want to make money (don't we all). In order to make money, we've got to sell something. This doesn't mean that anything has to be weird. Usually, if you think it's weird, you're the one making it weird. So be cool! lol

A lot of entrepreneurs leave a ton of money on the table. They do this by only promoting one single thing. This is common in the network marketing industry. They are only promoting their business opportunity and if people don't join, they don't make money. Or, they only sell one product, which is very limiting.

This is where tiered products come into play. Not only do you want multiple products, but when you have several tiered products, you're giving people their own grocery store and they can take what they need at the time. When you offer different tiered products, your potential for income greatly increases.
