If you're looking to grow your online business to 6-figures or beyond there are some key fundamentals to master that will get you there much faster.

Today, I'm going to share how you can easily hit 6-figures in any business by applying these 3 fundamentals.

Before we dive in please understand these fundamentals have stood the test of time. These are not just some marketing hack that will only work for a short period.

Applying this into your business will get you long-term sustainable results.

It's no secret that having a large audience is valuable. Take a look at the icons in any industry. What do they all have in common? They have a large audience of people who know who there are and more importantly, will buy from them.

So, I'll just go ahead and assume you have a question that may sound something like this...

How do I build my audience?

Great question!

Instead of giving you some temporary marketing hack that only works for the next 4 months before marketers ruin it, I'll tell you how to grow your audience regardless of what month, year or century we're in. Sound good?

Here it is...

Create valuable content in your specific niche on a regular basis. This is the key to growing a massive audience that will love you and of course, buy from you.

Sounds pretty simple right!? That's because it is. But the sad reality is most people aren't willing to put in the work to build their audience.

Why? Because It's just that... Work. But, I know you've got what it takes.

Picking a platform

When it comes to building your audience, you need to know where they hang out. This is where we choose a platform in which to create content.

There are many different platforms to choose from when trying to grow your audience. Here are a few:

-Facebook
-Instagram
-YouTube
-Blog

Sound familiar? And that's just scratching the surface.

What platform is best to grow your audience?

While I'd love to tell you there is one better than the other, I think it depends on your personality.

Me personally, I love YouTube and lately I've been getting into blogging, hence why you're reading this right now. 

Here's what I want you to understand and this is really important...

You must pick something you know you will stay consistent with.

If you hate writing and know you will give up after a few weeks, then don't start blogging.

If you have what it takes or maybe even enjoy talking to a camera, then start a YouTube channel.

One of the biggest factors to growing your audience is to consistently show up.

How to get your content found

Creating awesome content is not enough. You are going to have to put your marketing hat on in order to really see a spike in growth. So, how do you do it?

Keyword Research

This is the process of finding what your ideal clients and potential customers are actually looking for on the internet.

There are several websites and tools that can help you do keyword research.

Most people start with the Google Keyword Planner. I got started with this tool years ago, but I do believe you need to run one campaign before you can use it.

Another really cool tool to use is Ubersuggest. This tool has a funny story.

Ubersuggest used to be it's own website. Now, it's owned by Neil Patel. He's an icon when it comes to growing online businesses.

Anyway. Neil decided to just buy the entire website and put it on his domain at NeilPatel.com.

In my opinion, he made Ubersuggest much better.

If you want your content to be found over and over again, there's one thing you should focus on and that's to...

Create evergreen content

This is content that you know people will be looking for throughout many years.

Here's an example. Let's say you want to promote a live event coming up in the near future. So, you create a piece of content about it.

While this content may get found leading up to the  event, once the even it past, your content is dead. 

On the other hand, lets say you are a fitness coach and need to create a piece of content that can drive traffic for years to come, you might create content on how to change your diet to lose weight fast.

You see how that works!?

People will always want to learn how to lose weight fast and if you create valuable content that shows them how to do it, you can drive traffic, leads and sales for years to come.

2. Engage your audience

Once you've been consistent with step one you will start to build your audience, the next step is to engage your audience.

This step is very important because it's what gives a personal touch. It allows your audience to see that you're a real human being and not just some fictional person on their computer screen.

Think about big celebrities and how social media has played such a huge role in their careers.

Because of social media, people can now engage their audiences on deeper level, which is creating even more raving fans.

So, how do you engage your audience?

It's simple... Talk to them.

For example, let's say you have a YouTube channel. There are two really great ways that stick out in my mind to engage your audience.

The first one is to reply to comments. Believe it or not this is a simple thing to do that goes a long way.

People want to be recognized and when you take time out of your day to reply to their comments it makes them feel special, which grows your bond with your audience that much more.

The second way is to livestream on YouTube. Live-streaming is a raw, authentic way to engage your audience.

When you go live on any platform, you have the ability to chat with your audience and they absolutely love it.

There is a true power when you can engage your audience in real-time.

As you can imagine, there's many ways to engage your audience, but no matter what way you choose, in the end it comes down to simply communicating with them and making them feel understood.

3. Sell to your audience

You didn't think I forgot you want to make money did you? 😉

If you want to make money in your business let alone 6-figures, you are going to need sell something.

A lot of times people fell "icky" or "gross" when it comes to selling, but it doesn't have to be that way.

As a matter of fact, if you apply steps one and two already mentioned, your audience will want to buy from you.

So, at some point, you've got to be ready to sell something in order to start making money.

A common question people have is...

What do I sell to my audience?

There are many ways to make money, but here are just a few:

Create branded merchandise.

This is very common amongst YouTubers. Often you'll find they create: hats, t-shirts, mugs etc. that their audience can purchase.

An easy way to do this for free is to use on-demand websites like Teespring.

Sites like this allow you to design merchandise for free and sell it.

Once you set a price and a purchase is made, the website produces and ships the product to your customer and you profit the difference. It costs you nothing. Pretty cool huh!

Another way to make money is to...

Sell products as an affiliate.

Becoming an affiliate can be very profitable and it's one of my favorite ways to make money.

Affiliate marketing is the process of selling other people's products and services and getting compensated for each sale made.

Most people still don't know about affiliate marketing and I'd bet a large majority of the people who read this didn't know that some of the biggest box stores have affiliate programs such as: Walmart, Best Buy and Home Home Depot.

Don't believe me? Go to their websites and scroll all the way to bottom... Nope, keep scrolling, ALL the way to the bottom.

That's usually where you'll find their affiliate programs.

One of the most popular affiliate sites online for selling digital products is called Clickbank. Here, you can sell other people's digital courses and programs.

Create and sell your own digital products.

Selling digital products online has become a billion dollar industry.

This is the idea of packaging your knowledge into a course or membership website and selling it.

The cool thing about selling digital products is you can charge a premium for your knowledge if the demand is there and your products are good.

How do you create your own digital products?

There are many websites that allow you create your products, but there is one that is dominating online called Clickfunnels.

Clickfunnels is an all-in-one platform that allows you to create: landing page, sales funnels and full-on membership websites.

It's very well-known in the online marketing space.

Conclusion

Growing an online business is one of the most rewarding things someone can do. It can allow you to create a significant income, have time freedom or travel the world.

But, it does come at a cost. You will need to learn how to develop your skills as a content creator and marketer.

Following these three fundamental steps will indeed help you create the business of your dreams.
